Medium: Vinyl 2011 launched in spectacular style last Friday at Hardware Gallery and Plump Gallery on Enmore Road. A huge crowd drifted between both venues over the 4 hour marathon event. Fantastic tunes were played by Dean Dixon and Dave Fernandes from HAHA industries, plus other DJs at Plump gallery. Cameras were going crazy catching all the art, people and of course our special guest speaker, Jane Gazzo from Channel V, who gave a great speech.
The overwhelming reaction to the show was positive with particular note being made about how good it is to see two galleries working in such close collaboration and with so much success. As well as from many of the local artists who participated and attended the opening, there was very strong support from the general community.
Coming up over the next few weeks are more exciting events at both galleries while the vinyl exhibition stays up. First up is this Friday at Hardware Gallery with Sound Series #13, followed by Plump Jam next week at Plump Gallery.
